I received a sample of Dark Angels with another product I purchased, and am so glad I did! I love this product and use it most evenings to take my makeup off before bed.

It's a grittier texture by design - so don't expect it to be a smooth buttery texture and you won't be surprised. It leaves my skin so soft and refreshed. I used up the sample (which lasted forever) and immediately purchased my own DA large size cleanser, which I'm sure will last for months. You can't beat that for the price!

I use this product as my regular facial cleanser: twice a day, followed by the tea tree water toner that LUSH creates as well. It's incredible. I used to use a three step acne system, but my high school acne has subsided so I wanted to switch to something more gentle and aimed towards controlling my super oily skin. This product is incredible. You only need a tiny bit and, yes, it looks a bit frightening but you MUST rinse it all off and it's probably best to follow up with a toner as well. Since I've started using this product, my skin tone has become more even, my skin is so soft, and I don't get oily! No more super mattifying powders for me!

I absolutely LOVE the way my skin looks after I use this! Glowing and Radiant (no exaggeration). I am so very pleased with this. I had breakouts on my chin and this immediately went to work and helped clear it up! I totally recommend this product to every girl, even with "normal" skin.

I actually purchased this product for off-label use. It was recommended to me to strip dye from my hair. Started using it as a face wash as well, and the first time I loved it. The second time my skin did not. My face tends to normal\dry, so this just isn't the product for me. Sadly, I'm also allergic to lavender oil, so my choices are quite reduced.

But it's taking the dye out nicely.

I got this after not being 100% sold on the herbilism face wash
-note- Even though i didn't love herbilism i still recommend it to acne prone skin, expecily if you are a bit more sensitive skinned. (the ground almonds will exfoliate alot gentler then dark angels)

ANYWAY

I Like dark angels because it really exfoliates my skin. (which I need due to working in food-grease, wearing makeup, dead skin and so on) As well as it smells really nice-kinda lemony. After I wash my face feels super smooth and my pores look alot smaller. which I then top it off with one of hte face masks and a tonner. I am a happy camper!

-note- I would not recommend this if you have sensitive or dry skin!! It will eat your face off!! only for oily and normal skin :)

My mom and I got this and OH, MY GOSH, it's so wonderful. I work in a pizza place so my pores are CONSTANTLY full of flour and all kinds of gunk, but using Dark Angels has turns my face from a pizza trap to a glowing visage in no time. However, I do find that I have to use it in the shower, otherwise it gets all over my sink/sits in the bottom of the bathtub.

I walked into my local Lush to grab a bottle of Grease Lightning in my middle of my skin's monthly hormonal freakout and walked out with a sample of Dark Angels (about a week worth fits into those tiny sample jars!) and I was skeptical at first, but I've had acne since hitting puberty in 5th grade, so what did I have to lose?

What I mean by "Gets worse before it gets better": It made my skin even worse at first- I had even more blemishes (in spots I normally don't get them) for the first 3 days. BUT, in all fairness, the girl at the store warned me it might break me out the first few days as it drew all the oil and what-not out of my pores. However, after the first two days I already noticed the stubborn blackheads on my nose disappearing. NOTHING, not even those awful "pore strips", has ever been able to do that, so I was sold.

I kept at it, washing my face with Dark Angels, applying a thin layer of Grease Lightning, then moisturizing with Enzymion. After day 5 the existing blemishes started to dry up and shrink down, I had no more blackheads anywhere on my face, and I wasn't getting any additional blemishes.

I ended up going back and buying Dark Angels and I haven't had any breakouts since- a miracle after 14 years of fighting acne and NEVER having clear skin. This stuff has literally saved my skin!

I love this product...i use a pea sized amount and mix with a little water to form a paste...leave on my skin for ab 2 minutes and then rinse. It has worked wonders to clear up my mild occasional adult acne. I'll never be without this product!

I love the coal scrub and thought this would be even better, because the area I recently moved to has harder water and was making me break out. However, I immediately had bumps all over my face after using this and they turned into hives. My skin is on the sensitive side, but I've never had an issue with soaps irritation until I used this. :( be careful!

I'm a proactiv girl, well I was until Lush sent me the dark angel face wash as a tester! I thought what could it hurt to try? This product wasn't harsh and did not leave my face dry like proactiv often would! The tester has last me quite some time, and hopefully dark angel comes back into stock by the time it's gone! Thanks lush(: My skin has never looked better (:

I got his cleanser about a month ago and love it! I use it about twice a week and it keeps my combination skin in perfect condition. I have only had one tiny breakout over the past month while using this and normally I get four bigger ones.This both exfoliates well and cleanses well although I think it might dry my skin out a bit, but other than that it rocks! The only con about this is that it does stain your sink a bit.

Alright LUSH, just when I think you are incapable of impressing me any more than you already have, I try this fabulosity!!!

This scrub is incredible. I have sensitive, easily irritable skin, and for some reason, this cleanser doesn't leave me with the gross redness that great exfoliators usually do. Super deep-cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and leaves my skin feeling SILKY smooth and lightly scented of some sort of magical sweet forest. I'm a huge fan of Aqua Marina (when my skin is insanely irritable) and of Angels on Bare Skin (for light exfoliating), but Dark Angels takes the cake. You've done it again, LUSH!

I got this as a sample and now I'm eagerly awaiting it to be in stock again. You better believe I'm pouncing on that.

I'm 27, and my skin is fairly young looking as that's just how my family ages and I'm not that fond of the sun, so I still deal with oil and breakouts. I've used this 3 times now and I'm so delighted with the results! I don't feel any roughness at all, even a small excema patch has receded. I'm not oily at all, just smoothly soft.

It is a bit messy, lol, but I can deal with that. The scent though... woof. I felt like I was in art class and had stuck some of my old charcoals up my nose. Maybe I just got a sample batch that was strong? Don't know. But I'm not going to let that keep me from using it. As someone who has trouble finding a good facial cleanser for all my needs, this one hit the bullseye!

I just take a dime size amout and add water and rub. It can be messy but you get the hang of it. I love the feeling of the small beeds on my face. Perfect For teens and pr-teens!

I bought this product after talking to the sales associate. I have used Angels on Bare Skin for years but recently hitting my 30's and preggars, my skin type is changing. It is changing from a dry skin type to a composite skin type with a T section that is oily but the rest of the face is dry.

Don't let the black color fool you, I thought because of Coalface it would be drying. To my surprise to does moisturize afterwards. Props. to the sales person who said that is he middle ground between Herbalism and Angels on Bare Skin. It doesn't leave the oils that AOBS does. It is a little abrasive. I didn't realize the amount of grit that would be in it ( I believe that is black sugar). It also smells very different, mud and spices. I like it.

With the face wash I used to use for my oily skin, I always felt like I needed to finish with a toner or astringent. After washing with Dark Angels, my face feels completely clean and fresh - no further steps needed.

A bit messy, but at least half of the mess is probably more early-morning/late-night clumsiness than the product itself - and any charcoal-y finger marks wipe off the sink and counter nicely.

I received this as a sample, and I must say.. I was a little skeptical at first. "Wash my face with charcoal?" But the product is great! It's a little rough, but I use it about once a week as an exfoliant. It leaves my skin soft and smooth!. Definitely good for removing dead skin, the charcoal removes excess oils if that's an issue and the avocado adds moisture to balance your skin. Great product

This cleanser was recommended to me by a LUSH employee for my combination skin, to get rid of acne, and to get rid of clogged pores. Let me tell you, it is amazing! I have only been using it for one week, and my skin has drastically improved. My zits have cleared up, and my pores are fresh and clean.

I use this product every day. I usually use it at night, but sometimes I do it both in the morning and at night. It removes my makeup (but I don't use on eye area) and leaves my skin soft and smooth. I follow up with Tea Tree Water toner.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with combination oily/dry skin or clogged pores. Worth the price!

Dark Angels is hands-down the best skincare product I own. I always had good skin as a teenager, but when I started college, I started to develop adult onset acne. I've struggled for the past three years to find something that would clear my skin up, and I've spent hundreds of dollars on all kinds of different treatments and cleansers and not a single thing would keep my skin clear for longer than just a week or two. I ordered a new massage bar from Lush about 2 months ago and received a sample of Dark Angels in the package. I was skeptical, but it looked intriguing, so I tried it out. By the third day of using it, my skin was smooth and all of my blemishes had practically disappeared. The sample lasted about two weeks, and I was feeling good about how it was working with my skin, so I ordered a pot of Dark Angels directly after and I haven't had a single blemish since I've started using it. I use this product morning & night and I highly recommend using Tea Tree Water and Grease Lightning along with it for even faster results. My entire family now uses Dark Angels, and we are all simply in love with it!
