I was desperate to find a natural deodorant that worked, and just about everything in most stores either smelled horrible, felt slimy, or actually produced an armpit rash (esp. Tom's of Maine... what in the world would cause that?!)! Aromarant was my first product at LUSH, and it really did the trick for me for the first month. It even kept me feeling fresh after long cycling trips!

After a while though, it started drying out my skin quite a bit. :( I switched over to Aromaco, but I still recommend this bar! My skin is just a bit sensitive for it.

I've always perspired freely and had a fear of the funk. My work is pretty high stress, senior management, lots of travel and longish days. This stuff keeps the funk at bay - even after sitting through tense meetings and 10 hour days. I've also not noted any residual odor on my clothing nor any tacky/white residue. Additionally, I frequently had mild rashes and ingrown hairs under my arms. Not so much w/this product - less irritating than traditional deos and antiperspirants.

The only time it has "failed" was at the end of a miserable day - followed by 45 minutes of brisk walking. Even then the "failure" was minimal - slight funk, not obvious or offensive. Just rub a bit more on and you're good to go. It can also be a bit sticky when first applied and leave stickiness on your fingers...

All in all, great product. I'm sold.

Oh man... thought I would take a break from Teo with this one... even explained to the salesperson that I stunk like funk... she recommended the Aromarant... My daughter and I both bought this as we have the same funky issues... I couldn't write LUSH fast enough to find out how to send it back... Unfortunately there is not a LUSH near me so I have to travel 2 hours to even get to a store... they were great and told me to send it back and asked what I wanted in exchange...

Thank you Lush for totally understanding that this product CLEARLY did not work with my own scent...

Hello!I highly recommend those out there who may be suffering from swollen lymph nodes under the armpit called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. This is a problem that I have which becomes worse with stress. The name for it is complicated syst- something or another. For women it happens around your period time and the syst target armpits and groin area. It is unpleasant and store bought antiperspirants only make it worse.For about 2 years now I have been using this deordarant and i love love love it!My armpits no longer sting or feel irritated. Also my [$] supply literally lasted for a year.

I wanted to love this product, but I just don't. I typically do not wear deodorant at all, and I don't have any issue with body odor. I received this as a sample, and decided to try it out. While I find it does smell good, it gave me a rash under my arms, and I also found that it seemed to make me sweat more than usual. I definitely will not be purchasing again.

Unbefreakinlievable. I have tried EVERYTHING in the way of deodorant and everything fails. Except this. I do not want to use an antiperspirant; I think one should sweat, but not stink. All of the Lush deodorant products I've tried have been incredible. Whether it's a regular work day or a sweat session at the gym, this stuff works amazingly well. LOVE IT.

Oh my goodness this stuff is great! I shower at night and sometimes by the morning, am a little ripe. Any time I get a whiff, I just apply and I'm good for at least 12 hours.

What's best is, its clear, and doesn't even really smell! I work in the food industry with food and wine, so smelling like incense is not okay.

The only downside is that sometimes my thumb and forefinger are a little waxy from applying. If that's the only con, that is one great product!

When I got a sample of this in the mail I was afraid to smell it because of another sample but once I smelled it it smelt like rootbeer! I asked other people if it does and they all said yess! except for one, but now she does!

The weather today in Kansas City (I recently moved here!) is 100* F and sweltering, blistering HOT HOT sun. I didn't check my forecast before I went out, but I lived to tell this story.

I just got back from an 8-mile bike ride (5 miles of which are grueling uphill, all 8 of which are on new BLACK asphalt pavement in direct sun). It was a sweaty ride, to say the least. My sample of Aromarant was there at every turn of the wheel! I never even started to smell, and didn't get heat rash like I usually do. I like that the deodorant does not have a noticeable smell of its own, also. It does its job without competing for attention with my other products and perfumes.

I have suffered from chronic rashes under my armpits for about ten years, and I have been looking for the past 2 years to find a natural solution to tame the rash. For the first time in my life, I have clear, beautiful armpits! (who knew it could happen to me?!?!) Thank you, Lush, for making such superb products for us to use. I am a customer for life.

I just bought Aromarant this past weekend. I'd been using Tom's of Maine and then Kiss My Face natural deodorants because the more conventional antiperspirants scare me -- humans are supposed to sweat! Although they were fine through the colder months, warm temps have finally hit the city and I needed something more effective -- by the end of the day I was smelling pretty funky. I was tempted to go back to the scary stuff but then I thought to check out if Lush had anything that could help. I was waiting to post a review of Aromarant until I wore it not only for an entire day, but for a post-work yoga class as well. Man, this stuff is amazing. I just swiped the bar on my underarms a few times in the morning (it melted easily and smoothly with no irritation -- also a consideration of mine) and it lasted all day and then all through yoga without reapplying! I felt clean and not smelly at all, but also natural and not like I'd plugged up my underarms. I also bought the Coconut powder since the salesgirl recommended it -- she layers it on after the Aromarant -- but I didn't even layer and it worked great. The one drawback for me is the smell. I chose this over the Aromaco because it wasn't as strong-smelling, but it's still got sort of a weird smell. Not bad, just not great, and I'm sure I'll just get used to it over time.

I have used this product every day for 6 years now.

One application completely controls my odor, except at that time in the month when I need to reapply if I exercise. It is difficult to apply, but not if you run in under a tiny stream of water and then apply to your underarms. There are flecks of lemon rind which come through occasionally. When that happens, I use a knife and slice off that bit of the bar. Slicing the bar seems to keep it potent. One bar lasts a long time. I keep it stored in a seal-able baggie. In humid climates, the product sweats (brought it with me to a Jamaica vaca and it made quite a mess). Putting it in a tub when in humid climates helped prevent the mess and reduced the amount of oily sweat from the product, but did not eradicate it.

I like the idea others have mentioned of using the product with the coconut powder.

I used the aromaco deodorant once and did not like it as much as this -- while the bar was sometimes difficult to apply without a bit of water, the aromaco felt a bit slimy and I did not love the smell as much as I loved the sandalwood scent of this bar.

My ONLY request is that they change the name and make the name less like the name of the other deodorant, aromaco. Aromarant is really a terrible name.

And as others have said, it is WAY better than Toms of Maine.

I picked this up because I wanted a natural deodorant to take travelling. This has a very mild, almost unnoticeable woodsy/softly smokey scent to it. So far it seems to be working. I like it because it doesn't really smell like much of anything once it's on, but stops my pits from getting all woofty. It also has a surprisingly softening, smooth feel on the skin-- must be the witch hazel.

Im a huge lush fan,but I have to admit I was skeptical about this. I sweat easily,and it doesn't taken long before I start to stink! I'm a hairstylist, so a good deo Is important!!! I use this product along with the coconut powder. The powder seems lock it in. It doesn't get on my clothes, and smells delicious. Especially with the coconut powder. I haven't used it for working out yet, so that's why i took s star away.
P.S. For all those who complain about the bar hurting...... If you shave off a bit on the end it will be smooth and creamy!!!!

LUSH, all I can say is what a fantastic product!!! To me, it's the best deo that I have ever tried. I love the subtle smell of hazelnut and the softness of the product.
I do not apply it like LUSH suggest because I find that it's messy and does not penetrate. So I keep it in a Ziploc, to keep it kind of soft, and I apply it by rubbing the piece from it's side instead of the top where you find the rinds of citrus. After a few application, the deo is not as hard and keeping it in a Ziploc is the key...
I will not go back to commercial deo.

The first time I bought Aromarant, it was clear and only had a tiny bit of lemon rind on one side. This chunk lasted me...well, I still have it! And I sometimes use that tiny piece instead of the chunk I bought recently because the new piece is FULL of lemon bits. :( This makes it hard to use and even a bit uncomfortable, but it doesn't stop me. My only bit of friendly advice to the compounders is this: stick to the clear formula! Pleeease?

I just bought this product, and it seems to be working as the lush lady indicated it would. I am, however, unhappy with the strong scent. It's not terrible, but it's overpowering everything else I have on. I'd try the Aromaco, but I'm not really a patchouli person. Can you make one that is unscented?

By the time I found Aromarant I had probably seven barely-used natural deodorants in my bathroom. They all either a) didn't do anything, b) only worked by having their own very strong odor (usually lavender or tea tree oil) or c) gave me a super itchy, scaly red rash.

Aromarant passed all of those tests with flying colors. BUT. Small fault: it doesn't stain clothes, but it does mark them. The marks wash out, but that's not helpful halfway through a workday in a white blouse. Big fault: ouchie scratchy bits of ... lemon peel? I don't know. Strainer, pls? I'm tired of picking them out of the bar with my fingernail or getting scratched by them. Still, I think it's the best mild-smelling non-irritating natural deodorant out there.

I think I have a hate/mostly love relationship with the smell of this product. When I first discovered it, I hated it, I took it home, loved it, put it on (hated it!), and then gradually I began to love it once again. It took me quite some time to get used to the sandalwood in this deodorant, but I'm glad I didn't give up!

I unfortunately have a problem with perspiration and this product helps a bit, but doesn't solve all of my issues. However, as long as you use the right amount it can last all day and leave you smelling fresh and clean! It did rub off on my shirts, but I guess I'm used to that by now.

My only issue is what I see a lot of other people complaining about, the bits of lemon seeds and peel in the product. I have soft, sensitive skin, and that definitely hurts. I've found I spend most of my time picking out all of those nasty bits which isn't very fun. All in all, though, this purchase was definitely worth it and as soon as I run out (which will be months and months from now I bet!) I will definitely buy some more! Ask for a sample, go for it!

This was my first venture out into the world of natural deodorants. I really loved the smell of this and figured the sandalwood would double as a soothing agent to razer burn as well. I was right! It's been a couple of weeks and I hardly ever have to apply more than once a day.

My huge problem is that I live in Florida in a very uneven climate. I keep my apartment always at a comfy 70 degrees but for some reason this deodorant bar SWEATS more than I do! I've kept it out of the sun in a cool corner of my room wrapped in the paper I bought it in but even today (which is chilly) there's small puddles of oil that have seeped out of the bar. How can I keep this from happening? It's making a mess all over my shelves!
