I haven't tried SDM, so I can't compare them, but this smells like my favorite weekend mocha chai, which is exactly what I was hoping for. extra points that I got two 8 oz bottles instead of one 16 so it's easier to share (if I decide to share. which I may not, this is so delicious and often out of stock). Super sudsy bubbles. My showering companion thought the look was a little muddy/gross, but to me it's just chocolate, and what's better than bathing in chocolate? Loving this so much my poor Raining Men is feeling neglected.

This makes A LOT of bubbles, so only a small amount is needed on a shower puff. The description of the scent is spot-on: chocolate covered ginger snaps. If you like spicy scents, then I think you will like it. It's not a sweet fragrance, but it is pleasant.

WHOA! i love this scent, i want to eat it, it smells like sweet gooey chocolate with just a hint of ginger snaps, it feel like your bathing in melted chocolate. there isnt a gross scent in this at all, its all sweet! love it love it love it! if ya dont like BBW's temptations line, you wont like this. it lathers great, smells great and makes you want to go eat a dozen chocolate chip cookies! lol

I bought this on a whim, I thought chocolate shower gel? But when it arrived it smelled and looked like pudding! I used it and also tried it as a shampoo, I love it, my hair which is curly and thick loves it! I can't say enough good stuff about this product!

The best way to describe the smell of this product is through an analogy. You sit down at your favorite Mexican restaurant and order enchiladas with mole sauce. That brown chocolaty, spicy, thick, and wonderful sauce, is EXACTLY what you get with 13 Rabbits. It must have been inspired by a visit to a Mexican restaurant!

That being said, I'm not completely in love with this product. For some reason, in my opinion, having something that isn't sweet and resembles a food so closely, used as a soap was not intriguing to me. I'm not a "sweet tooth" person either as my tastes swing more toward the spicy/bitter side of the spectrum. I still think if you want a really nice CHOCOLATE bath and shower gel that Sonic Death Monkey is a much nicer product.

Just my opinion though. Definitely worth a try but 13 Rabbits is not for everyone. I'm using mine as a hand soap now instead of a shower gel but I don't think I'd buy it again.

OMG, this stuff makes the BEST bubbles EVER. I have been using it in the tub, and a tiny little bit makes the whole tub just lovely. Super soft skin, too. The bubbles are nice and thick, like a cozy chocolate blanket. I LOVE THIS STUFF. Even have tub pix on [...]!

In the bottle you can smell the ginger mostly but when you pour it in your hand you can smell the chocolate more. The shower gel has a look to it like melted milk chocolate. I find it moisterizes my skin quite well. The scent from the shower gel doesn't seem to last on my skin so it doesn't interfere with any other perfumes or creams. I also find it makes a wonderful shampoo and lathers quite well. After using it for only a week, I find my hair is much softer and shinier - it's working as well or better than the most expensive, salon shampoo I've tried! Overall this is a very lovely product and as this is is by far the best bath/shower product I've tried by lush yet...I'm surprised it's a Retro product (Who would retire this?)

I got this as part of a birthday gift basket. I didn't get the bitter smell a lot of others noted, to me it smells exactly like the spiced coco my grandmother used to serve with desert on Christmas eve. they should put a warning label on this stuff though...[...]

Smelled weird in the bottle, but then when I used it in the shower, it smelled to me like chocolate milk. Or the way chocolate milk tastes, I guess. I'm pretty much hooked!

Ordered this through RetroLush because it was called 13 Rabbits and I have a rabbit. It's not as chocolatey-sugary smelling as Sonic Death Monkey (which I love). It's got more of a bitter scent to it. Not bad but not quite what I expected from "ginger snaps" and "chocolate". It's an okay scent. Works just as well as any shower gel.

I really wanted to like this. I really did. But it just was not what I thought it would be. I'm not into the sweet, candy-like stuff, but this just took it too far in the opposite direction. It was bitter without being rich. It smelled worse in the shower than in the bottle. Very disappointing. Two stars because it does the job on body and hair and it smells alright after the shower. Tip: Shake the bottle because the oils separate.

It's okay...I think I like sweeter scents like Sonic Death Monkey better. This was too bitter and tangy for me. But it lathered well and the consistency was good too.

It smells pretty good. Like sonic death monkey without the lime. Very similar but when I put in on my body it smelled kind of bitter. Consistency was great and smell lasted a while

A very good scent; lightly chocolatey, with a nice gingery spice to it. Works well as a shampoo, and has a nice lather. Not one of my tippy-top favorites, but definitely a solid, "Very Good Product!"

I tried SDM previously and was very unimpressed with the amount of chocolate in it, it just smelled like bitter coffee and lemon to me. So I tried this. I still don't get much in the way of cocoa from this, it smells like lightly spiced rice milk. That said, I like it! I probably won't stock up on it, but I'll definitely use the rest of my bottle. It gets points for not being too drying.

Oooh! I am so happy to see this one available in the NA! It smells absolutely lovely, a sparkly, happy, chocolately-ginger smell, and works well as a shower gel and a shampoo. Lush Retro is the best!

So Delish!! And all those wonderful oils make it a great shampoo for my curly, tending toward dry, hair. I think this one smells more chocolatey and less sweet than SDM.
